A Simple Morning-Walk Photo of Renovation Turns Magical

All the emails, all the love from around the world, readers who wonder if we're still alive, surviving and I'll answer here a resounding Yes.

Somehow this photo of Hallgrímskirkja undergoing renovation symbolizes something greater for our country as a whole.  The lights are still on in Iceland, we've eaten well over the holidays and as I write hundreds of thousands of króna worth of fireworks are going off in celebration of the 13th day of Jól. Christmas is over, the last santa goes back to the hills, the decorations come down, but the glowing soul of our nation shines on.

I'm glad the holidays were good in Iceland! I made my first trip to Iceland this past November and loved it. I honestly can't wait to go back again ever since I left! What a wonderful place I think. Have enjoyed reading your blog.

Hm...now is that Hallgrimskirkja or a skyscraper? In any case, that is how Hallgrimskirkja looked when I was there!

It's Hallgrímskirkja, just like you thought. Don't mind Lumo...his blog is also in the Best Euro Blog finals (he's winning, I think) and he's just trying to rattle the competition (here's a quote from his site "Boringly enough, I am not aware of any real "foes" in our European category.") Arrogant science nerds are always kind of cute ;-)

He's just jealous because your blog is prettier AND more interesting. The condescension is clearly a sign that his self worth comes from feeling superior to others.

And yeah, SHE'S IMPORTANT.
