A chest of gold is said to be hidden behind the waterfall, and the last time Valentí­na and I went there (on our mother-daughter trip in 2003)we figured out an ingenious way to get behind the falls and recover the gold: it involved cables and hooks and things, which we unfortunately didn't have on us at the time! After going to sleep in our tent to the lulling sound of rushing water, we woke fresh the next day and climbed to the top of the falls...what an adventure!
