It IS a laptop computer, looks like a Lenovo thinkpad :-)

The room could easily be from an old Swedish farmhouse.

We Icelanders were secretly MUCH more advanced in the 19th century than the Swedes, which is why you've never seen an ancient Daguerrotype of a young Swedish farmhouse teen with a netbook from your home country, Lennart ;-)
