Eye

In a world of illusion, we see what we want to see, yes?

I guess I'm old-fashioned. But the achievement of an artist is to cause others to see what the artist sees. It's enough for me anyway. Thanks for posting this.

Looking at this, I am bewitched. Utterly fascinating, beautiful... words fail. The All-Seeing eye reflected in the [bark of a tree?] However it came to be, it is very moving. And a lovely photograph well-composed and clear. Thank you for sharing Maria. :-) What kind of tree is it? -Kevin

I'll try to get a shot of the whole tree soon, and post it on flickr. I don't know the kind...it's one of the fast-growing numbers that have been panted all over Reykjavík in the past decade. This particular one is just across the street from Hallgrímskirkja, for those of you who've been here : )

Maria, I'm planning on visiting Iceland in the summer of 2011 with my Dad. I'll be sure and look for this tree across from Hallgrímskirkja!
